I believe this is artwork by Henry Darger. Fascinating story, the guy died alone and poor in Chicago, but was discovered to be a prolific writer and artist - having completed a 15,000 page tome entitled The Realms of the Unreal, and hundreds of paintings of scenes from the book, some as large as 10 feet long. Google it.
